As established by the US government, the .kids.us domain provides a trusted
secure online space for children ages 13 and under. As the first “youth
friendly” space, it features advanced technical, policy, and operational
mechanisms that offer information, entertainment, and online protection.
How do I protect my trademark
in the .kids.us space?
The Sunrise Period was established so that owners of existing or pending United
States Trademarks or service marks have an exclusive opportunity – before
first come first served registration – to apply for .kid.us domain names
in advance of the general population. Sunrise registrations are available only
through August 15, 2003 – so do not delay!
How is the Registry ensuring
the safety of the .kids.us domain?
Using detailed processes and procedures, with both technology and human intervention,
to ensure acceptable content prior to posting, the Registry is committed to
ongoing monitoring of all pages accepted into the .kids.us space. Neustar has
contracted with a neutral third party to conduct this continuous monitoring.
In determining suitable content, Neustar solicited input from a variety of
outside sources. Twelve distinct categories were identified and used to develop
specific guidelines and policies. Violations of the .kids.us
content policy ,may result in offending sites being taken offline immediately.
Must all registered .kids.us
domains maintain active websites?
No. There are no requirements to maintain a live site on a .kids.us domain.
However, there are currently over 30,000 .com, .net, and .org domains that
